TLDR

Beit Sahour, Israel is an Arab village in the Judean hills east of Bethlehem.

Today, Beit Sahour is home to some 14,500 residents, 80% Christian and 20% Muslim. There are two interesting locations in Beit Sahour: Boaz’s Field, and Shepherds’ Field. Boaz’s Field is believed by some to be the field where Boaz met Ruth, based on the story from the book of Ruth. According to Christian tradition, Shepherd’s Field is the place where the shepherds were told by the angel of god about the birth of Jesus (Luke 2, 10). Today, at this site, there is a church called the Shepherds’ Field Church.
